Overlooking King Island's picturesque Currie Harbour, the Festival of King Island brings together brings together a bevvy of folk/blues/country/rock/indie and pop talent. FOKI is where the artists come to have fun ... and so do we all. Performers in the past have included Deborah Conway and Willy Zygier, Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), Kim Churchill, Caravana Sun, Fanny Lumsden, King Social, Dave and Brad (Hoodoo Gurus), The Getaway Plan, Bobby Alu, Andrew Swift, Gretta Ziller, Wanderers, Boo Seeka, Benjalu, Shaun Kirk, Clare-Anne Taylor, Laura Hill, The Spindrift Saga, The Saxons, Simon Astley and many many more who mix it up close and personal with Australia's friendliest bunch of folks. Add into the mix the island's great cheese, beef and seafood and its great surf, dive and beachcombing beaches, as well as a couple of Australia's best golf courses and you are likely to find all your sensations tingling by the end of the festival weekend. There is also a raft race full of un-seaworthy vessels that rarely make it back to dry land, as well as a pie-eating competition not for the faint-hearted nor weak-stomached. It's all great fun, family-friendly, casual and relaxed.
