Autumn in Southern Tasmania is something special. Golden leaves drift through country towns, mist settles across the Derwent, Huon and Coal River Valleys, vineyards glow amber, and the soft afternoon light over rivers and waterways makes everything look a little bit magic. The Southern Tasmania Autumn Photography Competition invites locals and visitors to capture their favourite autumn moments across the region. Wander through country towns and parks, explore a walking track, or stop beside a quiet riverbank and snap what catches your eye. Entering is simple. Share your autumn photos on Instagram, tag @hobartandbeyond and include the hashtag #AutumnTasmania26. The competition is open to photographers of all skill levels. Images must be taken in Southern Tasmania between 1 April and 30 April 2026. Participants are encouraged to complete the Register to Participate form on the Hobart and Beyond website so organisers can contact finalists and winners. The major prize is proudly provided by The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart. Grab your camera, head outside, and show us how you see autumn in Southern Tasmania.
