The Little Stint - Speakeasy

An interactive, light-filled storytelling adventure. Placing children at the centre of this engaging interactive experience, Glow & Tell blends the magic of light and the simplicity of storytelling. Using UV light in a custom-built tent, the room is transformed into a magical performance space where stories and imagined worlds come alive as glowing drawings appear on the walls and floor. Artists at the Table transforms the ritualistic act of sharing a meal into an immersive cultural investigation of lutruwita/Tasmania's winter-to-spring transformation. Three acclaimed Tasmanian artists, Adam Thompson (pakana writer and Story Prize winner), Jenni Large (award-winning choreographer and dancer), and Emily Sanzaro (composer and sound artist), have each collaborated with chefs in a methodological exchange that challenges both culinary and artistic practice. Together, they've created three courses where flavour, texture, movement, music, and narrative converge into unified sensory experiences. An exclusive evening where nourishment becomes revelation. After being a staple at Junction for many years, we obviously couldn't celebrate our birthday without it – Yes, you guessed it, the famous Great Junction Dog Show. Formally hosted by the distinguished Ian Pidd, it has been bestowed on his Heir, Rosie Pidd. Expect the same Chaos and Comedy as previous years, but with a new spin from the next generation. What was formally a white suit and Akubra is now a red tracksuit and jazz hands But that isn't all – It's contest time! If you and your pooch fancy snagging titles like "Fluffiest" "Naughtiest" "Doppelgangers" or "Coolest Hairdo" then trot on over. The categories? Rosie will whip them up on the spot – she is the mother and will call the shots. Feel like you can put your best paw forward? Airship Orchestra is a mystical tribe of otherworldly characters beamed from the night stars, skin streaked with galaxy and voices like stardust. Visitors are beckoned towards the characters to bathe in rhythmic sound and light pulsation. The sound experience immerses visitors in an arresting score, written character-by-character for a multi-person choir. The generative soundscape synced with light creates an adventure that is aesthetically dynamic both day and night. The resulting music is minimal and reflective, enabling visitors to conjure their own interpretation of where the orchestra materialised. As with all ENESS work, there are intriguing details to discover, such as friendly LED eyes that blink and follow visitors from creature to creature. Welcome to Launceston's newest club, so hawt it's for one weekend only, so late it becomes early, so electric it's sweaty. Descend into the dancefloor, embrace the spaces, and inject yourself into the projections and light that cover the interior. This is CLUB GAWJ. Two nights highlighting Tasmania's finest DJs and producers, as well as some mainland talent thrown in. But don't just focus on the booth, look out for roving artists infiltrating the dance floor, including performers from QT* Cabaret and Tasdance. DANCEWEEKENDER is a vibrant celebration of community dance across Lutruwita/Tasmania, presented by Tasdance. After its successful 2024 launch, the 2025 program builds on the momentum by bringing local dance groups together in afternoons of performing, teaching and sharing. Events across the state invite social dance groups to perform a short piece and then teach their style to the audience, allowing anyone to join in, whether for ten minutes or three hours.
