Set on Tasmania's wild east coast, Tasman Sea Salt offers a rare chance to experience one of the island's most distinctive food stories at its source. Harvested from the pristine waters where the Southern Ocean meets the Tasman Sea, their sea salt is shaped by place — wind, sun, sea and time — and produced using a unique clean-energy process powered by solar, wind and ocean-derived thermal energy. Visitors are invited behind the scenes of the working saltworks to discover how pure sea salt flakes slowly form, before tasting the subtle differences that place and process create. Choose from a range of immersive experiences, each designed to awaken the senses. The Saltworks Tour offers an introduction to the harvesting process and the landscape that defines it, followed by a guided tasting of the signature salts. For a deeper dive, the Salt Sommelier Experience pairs salt tastings with carefully selected local produce, revealing how salt can shift, sharpen and elevate flavour. In the cooler months, Wild Winter at The Salt Cellar invites guests to warm up with mulled cider, crisp ocean air and winter tastings overlooking the Freycinet Peninsula — a quiet, elemental experience rooted in season and place. A visit to Tasman Sea Salt is a chance to slow down, taste Tasmania, and connect with the coast in a uniquely local way.
