Cascade Cottage is a two-bedroom refurbished miner's cottage providing cosy accommodation in the historic tin mining town of Derby, North East Tasmania. Cascade Cottage has room for 11 guests over three buildings on the property. Derby is approximately a 90-minute drive from Launceston, and a one-hour drive from St Helens, in Tasmania's beautiful North East. Derby is a great place to stay providing a hub from which to holiday, tour, and experience all that North East Tasmania has to offer. Cascade Cottage is approximately 400m from the Blue Derby Mountain Bike trailhead and an easy walk to cafes and shops on Derby's Main Street. Cascade Cottage has ample secure storage for bikes, workbench and stand, some tools and a wash bay located adjacent the storage area. The cottage is located on Cascade Dam Road overlooking the beautiful Cascade Forest where the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails are. Additional MTB trails include the Atlas and Blue Tier trails, Hollybank and George Town Trails.

The aim of the Derby lodge is to offer a standard of accommodation that matches the high standard of the Blue Derby trail network and brand. We opted to build the lodge from scratch as we believed we could customize the buildings to suit families right through to the hardcore mountain bikers. Being new buildings we offer a warm comfortable environment with the creature comforts you would expect from new accommodation.

Three units located in the very heart of Derby provide a ride in, ride out experience to explore the Blue Derby trails. Each unit sleeps eight guests and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an amazing view over the river. Sun-filled open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area and lockable bike cages complete the units, which were built with the mountain bike rider in mind. Heat pumps in all rooms and underfloor heating in each bathroom provide all year around comfort. A communal bike maintenance shed and BBQ area provide other spaces to relax during your stay.
