Discover the Wonders Beneath the Waves: A Marine Science Showcase for All Ages Join us for a fascinating afternoon celebrating the unique marine wildlife of the Tasman region and beyond. This year's Wildlife Showcase dives underwater, highlighting Tasmania's incredible marine ecosystems. Hear from leading scientists, enjoy stunning photography, and meet the people working to protect our ocean life. This engaging and educational event is perfect for all ages. Whether you're a curious child, passionate adult, or simply looking to spend an inspiring afternoon , this showcase has something for everyone. What's Included: • Talks from marine experts Dr Jemina Stuart-Smith, Dr Karen Gowlett-Holmes, and A.Prof Scott Ling • Q&A session • Meet the scientists over nibbles (5:30–6:30pm) • Light snacks included | Drinks & meals available to purchase Talks and meet the Experts: Dr Jemina Stuart-Smith (Marine Ecologist, IMAS) leads the recovery program for the critically endangered Red Handfish and will share insights into this rare species and conservation efforts. Dr Karen Gowlett-Holmes is a Marine Biologist, diver, and award-winning photographer. An internationally recognised expert on marine invertebrates, Karen will share her expertise on the giant kelp recovery project on the Tasman Peninsula. A.Prof Scott Ling (Marine Ecologist, IMAS) studies the relationship between rock lobsters and sea urchins. He'll reveal how lobsters help control urchin populations and protect Tasmania's kelp forests.
