Whispering Spirit Holiday Cottages offers self-contained accommodation and a pony stud near Franklin in Tasmania's south. The cottages are a refreshing retreat for rebuilding the spirit, with mountain and valley views and secluded gardens. Relax away from the busy world in a peaceful rural environment. Stay in Strawbale Cottage for couples and families, sleeping up to five, hidden away with a view over the valley, garden and paddocks. It features two double bedrooms with ensuites and a spa. Cosy Cottage sleeps up to three people and has a very homely atmosphere with extensive use of warm timbers. Both cottages are well suited for longer stays and multi-night and weekly discounts are available. In spring and summer watch the foals play in the paddocks and meet the ponies, experience the farm life or go for walks over the farm. Enjoy the wildlife at night. Keep a lookout for the shy platypus . Whispering Spirit is located between many attractions from Hobart to Southport and the Channel. It makes it the perfect stay to experience the area. The nearby townships of Franklin and Huonville provide shops and places to eat. Franklin is around a 40-minute drive (45 km) southwest of Hobart.

The roundhouses are literally just that! Round buildings, made with natural materials including strawbale, timbers, and lime render to ensure they are truly environmentally sustainable. Small fully equipped homes, they are cool in summer, warm in winter, and have stunning views down the valley towards Cygnet. The roundhouses are truly environmentally sustainable (not just the odd LED lightbulb or two!), using local and natural materials, local timbers, local artisans, and minimal plastics. Under-slab insulation, thick straw walls, double glazed windows, and the round shape all add to the eco-design. Architecturally designed, the roundhouses achieved an exceptional energy rating, with underfloor heating, remote-controlled blinds and a cute log burner. Each roundhouse has high-quality wooden furniture including king-sized beds and luxury soft furnishings from Liberty of London, Studio G, and Canningvale. On-site is a wood-fired hot tub which you can book as a spa experience. We provide a pre-heated hot tub, bathrobes, towels, and a herbal and salt bath teabag. We also sell local wines and cider as well as cheese/cider platters. The Bear unit is designed for families with a massive heart oak solid king bed frame, and a small bunk bedroom for up to two children. The Otter unit, for couples, has the best window seat in Tasmania, and a solid Marri timber bed.

Port Huon Cottages offer self-contained accommodation at Port Huon in Southern Tasmania. All accommodation at Port Huon Cottages are designed around the spectacular views over the Huon River and the Hartz Mountains. The cottages are self-contained, private and have balconies, all with fantastic water and mountain views. We have a total of 9 cottages available and can offer guests a choice of one and two bedroom cottages – including a spa cottage. Port Huon Cottages are located in the centre of the Huon Valley on the banks of the beautiful Huon River with major attractions such as the Tahune Forest Airwalk, Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool, as well as many boutique wineries all within approximately a one-hour drive from your cottage door. It is also perfectly situated for easy access to the Hartz Mountain National Park and the World Heritage listed South West Wilderness Area.
