Bruny Island Wild Long Lunch
This experience works two ways: visitors to Southern Tasmania can skip the car and ferry entirely with pickup from Kettering, or guests already staying on Bruny can join from Barnes Bay. While this is the signature itinerary, they're completely flexible—they can adjust the day to suit your group's interests and needs. Your time on the water takes you through the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and up into the mouth of the Derwent River, with a pass by Tasmania's first lighthouse at Iron Pot. Where you'll linger longer, guided by the weather and what the day offers. Following your water experience, the heart of the day is lunch at Bruny Island Wild—an architecturally designed space perched on the water's edge, where chef Ray Jones prepares seasonal dishes using ingredients sourced from the island and surrounding region. Afterwards, you'll have time to view exhibitions at brunyNORTH gallery and explore the beaches and coastlines of North Bruny on foot. Never rushed, never crowded - and truly authentic.
