For $50 you can enjoy a Whisky Tasting Experience with four 15ml tastes of our Callington Mill Single Malt Whiskies as well as a self-guided tour. The self-guided tours allow you to experience the whisky making process, with interactive stations brought to life by audio, images and video.

An experienced guide will take you behind the scenes on a whisky-making adventure—from grain to glass. Gain insight into the importance of each stage and the techniques used by our craftspeople in milling, mashing, fermenting and distillation. Engage your senses as you taste and nose the raw materials at every stage—wort, wash, spirit, and cask. You'll also learn about Tasmania's first fully automated and integrated turnkey distillery, which our founder, John Ibrahim, proudly refers to as "the Rolls-Royce of whisky distilleries." (He may be a little biased—you be the judge!) As part of the tour, you'll also step into the blending room, where whisky making becomes an art of precision and intuition. Here, you'll explore the aroma kit, sharpening your ability to identify key whisky flavours through scent alone. Discover how essential oils influence aroma and complexity before experiencing an exclusive tasting of whisky drawn straight from the cask. The experience concludes with a guided tasting of Callington Mill Single Malt Whiskies, featuring four 15ml pours of our renowned Single Malt. Tour duration varies depending on group size and questions, but please allow approximately 90 minutes for the full experience.

Callington Mill Distillery is located in the historic sandstone village of Oatlands, Tasmania. A distillery on a scale like no other in Tasmania and offers immersive and unique single malt experiences. The distillery is open seven days a week, 10 am to 4 pm. The 'cellar door', also known as the distillery's restaurant, will take you on a journey of the Tasmanian experience: world-renowned fresh seafood, locally sourced meat and fresh produce. There are several vegetarian and gluten-free options available, as well as charcuterie and cheese plates. The 'serendipity experience' includes tasting five premium cask strength raw whiskies with crafting and a tasting guide to assist you in creating your own unique Single Malt Whisky. You can add a unique label signed by you on a 700ml bottle of your own cask strength single malt whisky. This experience also includes a self-guided distillery tour. Self-guided distillery tours around the distillery are available during opening hours. Learn about the history of Callington Mill through video and audio installations.
