In the winters of 2021 and 22 our Pop-up Speakeasy Oscura welcomed thirsty curious locals and visitors into a world that welcomed them. Freezing cheeks stung to the warmth of this hidden bar. Ears woke to the thrum of brass, swing and glasses clinking. Eyes widened to the flickering light of candles and lamp light. The beating heart of the bar drew you in. This spring, Friday October 21st. Bar Stelo opened for you. She is not hidden. For she is yours. Hospitality is her soul, she knows what you need and gives you what you want. Opening weekend welcomed curiously thirsty dapper folk by the droves. Now the doors are thrown open we leave it to you to lay the plans – we’ll shake the cocktails. Our east coast tours feature the stacked loops of St Helens and the Bay of Fires cross-country trail from mountains to sea (dependent on winter conditions in the upper reaches). Nowhere else mixes the renowned Tasmanian dirt with dazzling views over an ancient coastline. This is our island showing off a little. The eight stacked loops south of St Helens have it all. Easy Townlink is pretty much what it says on the tin. Hard-pedaling Dreaming Pools and the descent shreds from the top of Loila Tier are more demanding. These trails ride well all year round, and deliver spectacular ocean views and a bucketload of ozone. What’s not to like. Into the mix we add the epic Bay of Fires wilderness trail. 42 km starting on the Blue Tier plateau 600 metres above sea level, winding through granite boulders and sup-alpine forest to spectacular Swimcart Beach. If the upper trail closes due to winter weather, there’s still 20 km of epic trail through mountain and coastal terrain.
