Melshell Oyster Shack provides a superior oyster experience from our farm in Great Oyster Bay. Premium Natural Oysters together with other local seafood and cheeses. For adventurous guests, a self cook kebab experience at your table is a must. Look out for our iconic funky blue van at Yellow Sandbanks, Dolphin Sands Tasmania. Just 15 minutes north of Swansea. Sit on the river bank at Moulting Lagoon and enjoy the freshest oysters and learn all about the growing process. Many activity options: shucking lessons, wander around our shell gardens, check out our aquarium or sit on the jetty and dip your toes into the cool waters. We are 3 km from the access to Nine Mile Beach a stunning white sand swimming beach with amazing views of the Freycinet Peninsula. Takeaway is also available.

The Freycinet Marine Farm sales room is located near Coles Bay on Tasmania's east coast. We are a two-and-a-half hour drive form Hobart and two hours from Launceston - part of the very popular Great Eastern Drive. The sales room is open every day from 9 am until 5 pm, offering freshly harvested mussels, oysters and local Tasmanian Rock lobster, scallops and salmon all from Tasmanian's waters. You can sit in our garden setting at one of the picnic tables or enjoy lunch on one of the coastal beaches. Tasmanian wine and beer is also available from the sales room. The farm is made up of six different growing regions totalling just less than 185 acres and is a mixture of estuarine and fully marine growing areas. The estuarine areas are in the Great Swanport river estuary. The marine zones are offshore from the Freycinet National Park and are open to the Southern Ocean to the south. Come and join us to taste the love from the ocean at our farm gate shop.

Our head guide Declan is a real deal oyster farmer down at Freycinet Marine Farm, working alongside the wonderful Giles and Julia Fisher to produce high quality pacific oysters and mussels, delivered straight from the farm to the shop. It doesn't get any fresher than eating oysters straight out of the ocean. So we invite you to pop on some waders, wade out into the waters, harvest oysters straight off the rack, and enjoy our authentic oyster farm tasting experience.
