agriCULTURED is more than a festival, it's a gathering of minds, hands, and hearts at the intersection of food, culture, and the land that sustains us.
Held in Launceston, Tasmania's UNESCO City of Gastronomy, agriCULTURED brings together farmers, producers, artists, makers, and everyday eaters to explore what we grow, how we grow it, and why it matters.
Through shared meals, bold conversations, and creative experiences, we celebrate the people shaping our food future, from soil to plate and everything in between.
A celebration of all things maritime, fishing, seafood and fine food more widely, accompanied by the best local beverages and an eclectic program of entertainment.
Acknowledging the fishing and farming heritage of the North East with the nation's best wines on its doorstep.
Coinciding with the start of the commercial scallop season in the depths of winter, what better reason to celebrate!

A playful and heartfelt showcase celebrating the warmth, whimsy and creative spirit of tea parties with a Tassie-style twist.
Presented by the Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Tasmania, Tassie Tea Party brings together Guild groups from across the state. The Guild connects textile and fibre makers of all kinds, fostering community, creativity, and skill-sharing through demonstrations, discussions, and exhibitions.
Inspired by the wonderfully curious tea scene in Alice in Wonderland, this exhibition tosses tradition aside in favour of imagination, storytelling, and a dash of delightful nonsense. Forget the fine china and formal settings — here, tea tables are transformed into creative installations that surprise, charm, and invite conversation.
Each creation tells a story through fibre, form, and flair — drawing inspiration from uniquely Tasmanian themes such as native fungi, local produce, bushwalks, mythical creatures, and even the act of cleaning up. The scenes span the nostalgic to the fantastical, and everything in between.
Much like the Mad Hatter's table, Tassie Tea Party is a joyful celebration of creativity, conversation, and the many ways we come together over a cuppa — with nature, storytelling, and a little nonsense woven in along the way.

Step into the imagined world of Sam Jinks, one of Australia's most prominent contemporary sculptural artists.
Renowned for his painstakingly crafted figures, Jinks' practice reflects upon deeply felt moments of our lived experience.
Sam Jinks || Mortal Reflections marks the first major exhibition in Tasmania by this talented artist — a rare opportunity for audiences to encounter a collection of sculptures not typically accessible to the public.
QVMAG will transform its entire upper level of the Royal Park site into an intimate contemporary art experience. Throughout this exhibition magical figures are held forever suspended within the uncanny realms of Jinks' sculpted hyperrealism.
Imbued with unguarded emotion and raw vulnerability, this unique presentation is one artist's invitation to reflect on the mysteries of: life || death, and all in-between.
Saturday 28 June 2025 - Sunday 31 August 2025 Launceston
ArtStart returns to QVMAG in 2025, celebrating the creativity of northern Tasmania's youngest artists.
Open to students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, each ArtStart exhibition is guided by a unique theme designed to inspire young artistic minds. In 2025, students will respond to this year's NAIDOC Week theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.
NAIDOC Week 2025 marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
This year's theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
Students are encouraged to explore and experiment with pattern, texture, and materials, creating works in any medium, including drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media.
A long-standing QVMAG initiative, ArtStart nurtures children's engagement with the visual arts and is made possible through the generous support of the Terry and Nan Woodward ArtStart legacy.

Six Extinctions delves into 'The Big Five' events which drastically reshaped life on Earth: the Ordovician, Devonian, Permian, Triassic and Cretaceous extinctions.
Each historical event was driven by geological and environmental factors like volcanic activity, meteor impacts and climate shifts. These extinction events devastated ecosystems but also paved the way for new evolutionary adaptations.
The exhibition, developed by Gondwana Studios, also examines the ongoing Holocene extinction event—the Sixth Extinction in which we now live—driven largely by human activities such as habitat destruction, climate change and pollution.
Yet, Six Extinctions also offers hope. Through highlighting conservation success stories, the exhibition demonstrates that concerted human effort can still make a difference in preserving biodiversity and restoring Earth's ecosystems.
In the exhibition, you'll explore these extinction events over 485 million years of Earth's history through an incredible collection of replica fossils. Come face-to-face with some of the most formidable predators of each era, including Dunkleosteus, the giant armoured fish that ruled the seas, Inostrancevia, a sabre-toothed predator as fierce as any tiger, Postosuchus, a towering crocodile-like hunter, and a life-sized replica of the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex ever found.
This is a journey through deep time you won't want to miss.
