National Reconciliation Week Breakfast 2025 Launceston

Thomas Mayo & Kate Warner – voices for truth, justice, and reconciliation.
Each year, Reconciliation Tasmania (RT) hosts events during National Reconciliation Week to offer connection, inspiration, and motivation for action and change. With an emphasis on truth telling, these events are an opportunity to hear from state and national leaders to explore how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Tasmania. 2025's NRW theme of Bridging Now to Next reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. At a time when Australia faces uncertainty in its reconciliation journey, this theme calls on all Australians to step forward together. Bridging Now to Next urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us. This year our speakers are Thomas Mayo, award-winning author, First Nations advocate, and signatory to the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and Kate Warner, former Governor of Tasmania and co-author of The Pathway to Truth-Telling and Treaty report to the Tasmanian Government; and performances by artist and musician DENNI, aka Madam Pakana' The event runs from 7am to 9am. Please arrive by 6.45AM to allow for a prompt start. We would like to thank our current sponsors for their support: Hydro Tasmania, Deloitte, Baptcare, WMM Law, Hobart Airport, Timberlands Pacific, Wellways, Libraries Tasmania, Catholic Care Tasmania, Discovery Early Learning Centre, Snap Print Solutions, Palliative Care Tasmania, Tasmanian Walking Company, Key Assets, and ERA Planning & Environment.
