New Norfolk Regatta

a photo of the River Derwent and bridge at New Norfolk
We are thrilled to announce the revival of the historic New Norfolk Regatta in 2027, celebrating the restoration of full access to the River Derwent from Hobart to New Norfolk. This event will not only highlight the beauty of our river but also revive the community spirit that this regatta once fostered. Join us as we bring families and communities together to celebrate our rich heritage. The regatta is officially scheduled for 12-14 February 2027. The dates have been chosen to allow plenty of time for the old Bridgewater Bridge demolition to be completed and for river infrastucture at New Norfolk to be ready for a safe and spectactular event. The timing also closely follows the iconic Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart - making it the perfect opportunity for festival-goers and boating enthusiasts to extend their stay and experience the beauty and hospitality of Tasmania's Derwent Valley. Stay tuned - we'll be celebrating along the way with some special milestone activities throughout 2026 as we build momentum towards the big Regatta weekend!
