Old Wetmore is a historic convict-built sandstone homestead. Settled in 1824, thoughtfully modernised with luxurious comforts. Old Wetmore is a rural refuge in the heart of the Tasmanian Northern Midlands, 78 Km south of Launceston, and ten minutes' drive south of the historic town of Ross. It’s a unique place - between Hobart and Launceston – offering the chance to indulge in a quiet country life on a working sheep farm, stunning rural views from every window, and still close enough to local cafés for a great coffee. Shepherds Story has been restored from the rubble of sandstone left from the original cottage, retaining the old where possible. Lime plaster walls and exposed timber beams with natural organic bedding, linen and finishings provide a warm, luxurious natural feel. Simplicity with just enough of what is needed and an emphasis on slowing down and savouring the moment are gently encouraged with thoughtful inclusions.

Picturesque and peaceful, this dog and cat friendly caravan park is located next to the Historic Ross Bridge alongside the Macquarie River. Grassy powered and non-powered sites - they provide 20 sites that suit caravans/ motorhomes up to 12 m long . New drive through now available The amenity block provides free, untimed showers and great water pressure. Separate ambulant toilet/shower block for comfort and privacy. Also onsite is a guest laundry with sink, two washers and two dryers, coin operated and a clothesline. Covered camp kitchen with plates, bowls, cups, fridge, appliances and 2 free electric barbeques available to powered and unpowered campers. The park also has five recently renovated self-contained rooms with queen, double and single beds. Unit one has full disabled access and facilities.
