Welcome to Southern Forest Accommodation at Southport in Tasmania's Far South. Home to the Cottage on our 43 acres forested property and Elements - Lady Bay, an off-grid house overlooking the southern d'Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island.
We provide relaxing and comfortable places to stay for anyone enjoying a quiet getaway in a natural setting. Both properties are not far from a choice of four beaches in Southport and just a short drive away from the Southwest Wilderness World Heritage area. If it is nature you are seeking, then come to the Far South. Only 90 minutes south of Hobart and you'll find wild coastlines, deserted beaches, magical temperate rainforests, dolerite caves, and fabulous walks either up mountains, through forests or along the coast. Visit Hastings Caves, drive to the southernmost settlement Cockle Creek for fantastic day walks, enjoy a Kayak trip on the Luner River with Esperance Adventures or just relax and take in the quiet beauty of the Far South.

Beautifully crafted timber cottage is set amongst peaceful forest and native gardens, and central to the laid-back settlement of Southport in Tasmania's beautiful Far South. Fully self-contained, Southern Forest Cottage is constructed from Tasmanian Celery Top Pine timber and features a large deck, open plan living and a well-equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms offer queen size beds with the second having a set of bunks for the kids as well. A cosy wood fire keeps the cottage warm all year round. Ideal for romantic getaway for two...or a family holiday! Please note: there is no television reception, limited mobile coverage (only Optus) and no Wi-Fi. If you'd like to get away from it all, this is the place for you!

Elements Lady Bay
Elements at Lady Bay, a unique off grid property in the Far South of Tasmania. This is a spacious passive solar rammed earth and timber house lovingly decorated and with stunning views over the Southern d’Entrecasteaux Channel and across to South Bruny Island. Sea Eagles are gliding by daily, Swift parrots are seasonal visitors and native hens love to roam outside the house. A beautiful remote location reached by 4 km of dirt road and with very limited internet connectivity, this property is suitable for those who enjoy nature and love to get away from it all. Elements has everything needed for a relaxed stay. A woodfire keeps the place warm during the cooler months. Sufficient firewood for your stay is provided. There are two bedrooms both with queen-size beds with quality linen. Elements is perfect for one or two couples. The open plan living area offers expansive views of trees, sky and water. The full size kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven. The bathroom features a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Elements is remote, off grid and we collect rainwater. Water and power are limited.
