Here be dragons. There are guaranteed sightings of seadragons and seahorses, platypuses and echidnas at Beauty Point.
Set on the wharf on kanamaluka / River Tamar, Seahorse World is the world's first seahorse aquarium, with a star cast of delicate seahorses and seadragons. The centre is dedicated to breeding and protecting these tiny creatures. The neighbouring Platypus House is home to Australia’s intriguing egg-laying mammals, the shy platypus and echidna.
Fancy a little human interaction? Choose from more than 20 wineries and cellar doors around Beauty Point, including many small, family-owned vineyards where growers will happily chat over a tasting.
For a stay out of the ordinary, bunker down for the night in Sidmouth in a transparent dome at Domescapes in the Vines, or take camping to the next level with the luxury tents of Wington’s Glamping – complete with Persian carpets and steamer trunks – on the water’s edge at Clarence Point.
