The hotel lies within two converted convict-built ex-warehouses, designed to reflect and show this heritage connection while bringing the wilderness of Tasmania into the hotel through multi-storey plant-filled light wells and planted areas. Many of the rooms feature sandstone walls and exposed timber beams. The property is both boutique and unique.
