Tasmanian Photography Tours
Hosted by Gill Dayton and photography instruction by Ben Wilkinson, this retreat invites you to slow down and immerse yourself in the still beauty of Tasmania's Central Highlands. Set at the renowned Thousand Lakes Wilderness Lodge, the experience combines connection with nature, creativity, and nurturing comfort. Surrounded by tranquil lakes, cider gum forests, waterfalls and rugged wilderness, you'll explore the restorative power of photography as a mindful practice. With instruction from Ben, you'll learn to capture the subtle magic of winter light, the moods of the landscape, and the quiet details often overlooked in daily life. After your outdoor adventures, retreat to the warmth of the lodge. Savour hearty, two course breakfasts to start your day, and enjoy delicious two-course dinners that are part of the experience. The food on this tour will blow you away! Gill's calm, warm & welcoming presence adds to the sense of community, making each conversation a chance to connect, share stories, and reflect. Evenings may take us beneath star-filled skies, listening for nocturnal wildlife—and, if fortune smiles, glimpsing the Aurora. The lodge itself is a highlight: extremely comfortable, cozy, and inviting, offering the perfect sanctuary for rest, reflection, and creative growth.
