28 Gates is a private fishery in the picturesque Derwent Valley, about one hour's drive from Hobart. With four lakes stocked with brown, rainbow, brook and tiger trout it is a great destination for experienced and beginner fishers alike. For beginners it provides a great opportunity to practice basic casting skills in a setting where you are very likely to cast to visible fish. Obviously for experienced fishers, the sight fishing to large fish is similarly a highlight.

With a maximum of 12 participants supported by up to three professional guides you'll be introduced to the basics of fly fishing and given a chance to catch your first ever wild brown trout on the fly.
