Not the usual tourist caves! Go off the beaten track with speleologists who share their passion and knowledge in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area of kooparoona niara/ Great Western Tiers. Magnificent natural settings, cave scenery, underground streams, glow worms. These beautiful and varied caves are not normally seen by the public. but are readily accessible from accommodations in the delightful village of Mole Creek or nearby Deloraine. Mild tour: one cave, 1/2 day; Wild tour: two caves, full day. Family-friendly tours access tourism, cave photography trips. Education and conservation programs. An awesome 24 m abseil into the cave option is available for family, youth, corporate or private group charters. Beginners welcome: environmental interpretation, photography advice and challenge-by-choice (adventure grade easy to moderate). Trips are tailored to suit: choose a peaceful nature experience and/or explore the harder side, squeezing and climbing. All caving gear and refreshments are provided. Bookings are essential. 'Mild' or 'Wild' trips are suitable for moderately fit nature/adventure lovers 14 years and older. Please contact the operator if you'd like your under 14 children to be considered for the tour. "Family-friendly" trips suit families with younger kids (great discounts, too). Most caving trips are for small groups of two to eight guests. Please inquire about special group charters. Mole Creek is a one-hour drive (74 kilometres) from Devonport or Launceston via Deloraine.

A half-day "Mild" experience includes one cave. Any Wild Cave Tour can be tailored to suit your requirements and caving experience. All caving equipment, overalls and picnic lunch is included. Tours range from easy walking to moderately challenging passages with climbs and squeezes. Bookings for individuals and groups are welcome. Photography: in-cave workshops or dedicated tours for nature photography nuts. Access tourism: While not suitable for mobility-challenged people, the tours can be modified to suit a range of (dis)abilities. Family-friendly: Minimum two adults and two kids, the trip can be tailored to suit younger people. Groups: Half or full day caving programs can be tailored to your group's needs, be it school, club, private or corporate groups. Programs may include the abseiling option. The abseiling site is a spectacular 24 metre pothole into the cave, with good spectator viewing. The two activities complement each other over a half or full day. Half of the group is caving while the other half is abseiling, then swap around at lunch time. Trips are always tailored to suit the group requirements and number of people. Inquiries are welcome.

Wild Winter Water Caves

Experience Tasmania's wild and undeveloped caves in winter. Winter is when these caves come alive as a water world, the opposite of the cave's dryness in summer. Gaze into reflection pools and cave waterfalls, enclosed moss and fern gardens. Indulge in photography and wild, wet fun across two cave sites with your expert guide. All caving gear, photography assistance and lunch provided, for all levels.

Minimum of two people is required to generate a tour.Reasonable physical fitness is necessary, similar as for a day rough bushwalking.
