Think winter is a slow season? Not for Tasmanians. As the Goat Doofer Wintern, your job will be helping put on a mini music festival. At a farmlet. In a place called Penguin. Home to a herd of vibe-seeking miniature goats. You'll keep the mini goats on their best behaviour as they prepare for this truly unique bush doof.
To get this paddock party started, you’ll be responsible for setting some stern ground rules with the mini goats to stop them from getting close enough to the DJ booth to chew the vinyl covers. A love for animals is essential.
As the sun sets, get ready to enjoy the tiny, ridiculous and – very possibly – only Goat Doof in the world. Local legend DJ Brad (a man, a myth, a farmer) will be spinning decks atop a picnic table while you dance to your own beat, while the mini goats graze their way through the nearby paddocks. Your final duty? Goat guarding the farm-fresh snack table, so you have plenty of harvest to graze on.
Post-party, take a well-earned rest on the comfiest bed in Hideaway Farmlet’s cottage. After a morning coffee, be on your way with sore dancing feet, a great story for your Monday morning work meeting and the life lesson that winter's better when you shimmy instead of shiver.

The finer details
- Familiarise yourself with our herd of mini goats.
- Maintain order in the goat shed and enforce basic party etiquette (e.g. no chewing the DJ’s vinyl).
- Roll up your sleeves and help with seasonal farm maintenance, including giving the farm’s fruit and nut trees a little trim.
- Must be great with kids – of the goat variety.
- Patience for animals of the cheeky, mischievous, snack-stealing kind.
- Keen to get your hands dirty and become one with the farm.
- Calm under pressure, even when your ‘team’ has four legs and a nose for trouble.
- Excellent taste in music to contribute to the set list.
- A one-of-a-kind, overnight experience at Hideaway Farmlet in Penguin, Tasmania.
