A compelling and dramatic reminder of our convict past and the early settlement. Rich in visual history, the Port Arthur Historic Site evokes a powerful sense of our past convict era and of early Australian settlement heritage. As we depart Hobart, we travel across Hobart's Tasman Bridge, into the Coal River Valley, an award-winning wine region, through the historic town of Richmond for a short photo stop at the famous convict-built Richmond bridge. We continue on to the breathtaking Tasman Peninsula and Tasman National Park for a stop at Pirates Bay Lookout. Wonder at the spectacle of the Tasman Arch and enjoy rugged coastline views. Arriving at Port Arthur Historic Site, we visit the interpretation centre with its interactive exhibits and displays before joining one of the many complimentary site talks situated throughout the site. Enjoy free time to explore the many restored buildings and ruins in the beautiful grounds before boarding your cruise to the Isle of the Dead. Enjoy a one hour, expertly guided walking tour on Isle of the Dead and hear the personal stories of convicts once housed there. Includes free Optional Remarkable Caves Tour and Visit the Chocolate Foundry
