Walls of Jerusalem (Powena Creek) Overnight Walking Adventure

This half-day walk takes you on a remarkable wilderness journey past the deepest freshwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Lake St Clair is known as leeawulena (sleeping waters) to the Tasmanian Aborigines. Your senses will come alive as we journey through a wide variety of native Tasmanian vegetation, including banksias, button grass, tea-tree thickets, waratahs, ancient rainforest ferns, and towering eucalypt stags. Wildlife encounters are possible and include wombats, black cockatoos, wedge-tailed eagles and maybe even a platypus. The walk begins after a short 45-minute transfer from Miena Village and includes the Larmairrenemer tabelti Aboriginal cultural walk, Platypus Bay and Watersmeet track. Self-guided Boat Hire - Our boats were designed and built in the United Kingdom for loch style fishing and are ideal for up to three anglers in Tasmania’s shallow smooth water lakes. They are powered by a six horsepower Suzuki motor and come provided with all safety equipment including life jackets, oars, buoyancy ring and fire extinguisher. Due to popularity bookings are essential, particularly in the summer months.
