Mt Field and the Derwent Private Day Tour

Wildlife Park
Tasmanian Devil

Luxury Transport
A full day north-west of Hobart taking in a wildlife sanctuary, the Derwent Valley and the rainforest of Mount Field National Park. The day starts at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where keepers introduce Tasmanian devils, wombats, quolls and kangaroos, and explain the rescue and rehabilitation work behind the sanctuary. From there the route follows the Derwent through the historic town of New Norfolk, with stops for seasonal produce along the way. Mount Field fills the afternoon. A guided walk leads through cool temperate rainforest to Russell Falls, and on among swamp gums that rank as some of the tallest flowering plants on earth. Platypus are sometimes seen in the streams and wedge-tailed eagles overhead. Lunch is a Tasmanian picnic, and national park fees and sanctuary entry are included. Door-to-door from your Hobart accommodation, roughly 8:30am to 5:30pm.
