Port Arthur
A full day combining a three-hour wilderness cruise along the Tasman Peninsula with an afternoon at the Port Arthur Historic Site. Pick-up is at 7:30am, with morning tea on the peninsula before boarding. The cruise runs beneath dolerite sea cliffs among the highest in Australia, through sea caves and past rock formations shaped by the Southern Ocean. Australian fur seals, dolphins, albatross and sea eagles are often seen, and migrating whales in season. Lunch follows at a peninsula venue, then around three hours at Port Arthur, one of eleven Australian Convict Sites inscribed on the World Heritage list. The site takes in preserved buildings, ruins, gardens and exhibitions, explored at your own pace. The return drive gets you back to your accommodation by about 6:00pm. Cruise, site admission, morning tea and lunch are all included.
