The Derwent Valley Whisky Discovery

Spend a full day in the Derwent Valley, the river and highland country running north-west of Hobart, where a growing community of boutique distilleries sits among historic townships and riverside farmland. The day is built around Lawrenny Estate Distillery at Ouse, a paddock-to-bottle distillery on a 400-acre estate dating from 1818 on the Upper Derwent, where estate-grown barley becomes single malt whisky and award-winning gin. Other stops include 7K Distillery at New Norfolk, Derwent Distillery at Dromedary and Hobart Whisky at Moonah. Your chauffeur-host handles the driving, the timing and the introductions. Midway through the day, settle in for a relaxed lunch at The Shed, the cellar-door restaurant at Derwent Estate, pairing seasonal Tasmanian produce with cool-climate wines and views over the river. Travel in a Mercedes-Benz SUV, people mover or Sprinter, with pick-up and drop-off at Hobart hotels, private residences, the cruise terminal or the airport. Every itinerary is fully customisable. Choose your own distilleries and they will build the day around you. This tour suits whisky enthusiasts, couples, small groups and corporate guests who want a full day in the valley without anyone having to drive.
